Hi, I’m Mark Dickson, founder of The Digital Learning Consultant. Since beginning my teaching journey in 2005, I’ve dedicated my career to enhancing education and professional development.

Meet Mark, your Digital Learning Consultant
I love teaching and I love learning. There’s nothing quite like the moment when a student achieves something they didn’t think they could, breaking through their own limits and discovering their potential. For me, that sense of progress, growth, and self-belief is worth more than the (not-as-glamorous-as-you’re-told) holidays. What really drives me is taking complex ideas—the ones that seem overwhelming or impossible—and turning them into something simple, clear, and unforgettable.
Over the years, I’ve worked in various teaching roles across multiple colleges, and here’s the thing: I still teach. Why? Because staying in the classroom keeps me grounded. It’s easy to move up or out of teaching and lose touch with the real pressures of the job—the planning, the marking, the balancing act of meeting expectations while supporting students. For me, being an effective consultant means staying connected to those realities. It’s about practicing what I teach, so when I share strategies, I know they work because I’ve tested them myself.

With experience as a Learning Consultant, Innovation Lead, Advanced Practitioner, and Head of Teaching and Learning, I’ve worked across schools, colleges, and independent training providers, teaching from Pre-Entry to Level 5.

My Story
From the classroom to consultancy, my career has always been about people and progress. Over the years, I’ve held roles such as:

But my life isn’t just about education. At the heart of everything I do is my family—my wife, Katie, and our two boys, Sonny and Louis. They are my biggest supporters and constant inspiration, reminding me of the importance of balance, connection, and creating opportunities for others to thrive, ensuring every solution I create is effective, meaningful, and focused on real-world impact.
